Published under the aegis of Comieco (National Consortium for the Reuse and Recycling of Cellulose-derived Packaging), this book showcases 21 splendid pieces of paper jewellery that can be constructed, worn, given as gifts and shown off on special occasions.
21 pieces of jewellery created by world-renowned designers or contemporary artists who have worked with paper for many years are brought together here for the first time to show that paper is a valuable asset with a great potential, not to be wasted.
“Precious” items made of 100% recycled paper that is treated using environmentally friendly processes, then tinted with vegetable-based dyes and skilfully hand-moulded.
The descriptions of the paper jewellery are accompanied by articles written especially for this book that examine the history of paper jewellery and the myriad forms of papermaking, from ancient times to the present.
The jewellery was created by: Gian Luca Bartellone, Sarah Kate Burgess, Ela Cindoruk, Dario Cestaro, Caterina Crepax, Eleonora Cumer, Sandra Di Giacinto, Noémi Gera, Martine Horstman, Maria Teresa Illuminato, Zoe Keramea, Parth Kothekar, Tithi Kutchamuch, Edoardo Malagigi, Fernando Masone, Angela Nocentini, Daniele Papuli, Angela Simone, Sounds of Silence, Paolo Ulian, Roberto Zanon.
